Bunch
Three receivers clustered — pick your poison.
Three receivers aligned within a few yards of each other. Bunch exists to defeat man coverage: rubs and picks create free releases, and press corners can't jam in traffic.
What it does to the defense
Man coverage: rubs and picks are nearly uncoverable from a bunch. It forces defenses into zone, banjo, or 'lock' calls — and tips their hand. If they stay in man against your bunch, attack the rub.
How each scheme uses it
Air Raid
Mesh and bunch switch-releases: free access vs man, natural zone voids vs zone.
West Coast
Slant-flat and drive from bunch — the rub manufactures the quick-game separation.
Power Run (Gap)
Crack the safeties with stalk blocks from the bunch; play-action pop pass behind them.
Wide Zone
Bubble screen off outside zone; bootleg flood from the condensed splits.
Spread Option
Bunch RPOs: glance and flat off the read, with the rub freeing the quick game.
Vertical
Bunch verticals: switch releases beat press-man clean; seams find the zone voids.
