Stack
Two receivers stacked — beat the press.
Two receivers aligned one directly behind the other. The stack gives the front receiver a free release and the back receiver a two-way go — it's press-man's nightmare in a phone booth.
What it does to the defense
Press-man: one corner can't jam two receivers. It forces off coverage or a banjo call — and if the defense stays pressed, the stack wins the release every time.
How each scheme uses it
Air Raid
Switch verticals: the back receiver reads the leverage and breaks opposite.
West Coast
Slant-flat from the stack — the rub is built into the alignment.
Power Run (Gap)
Play-action shot: the stack wins the 1-on-1 on the outside.
Wide Zone
Bootleg dagger off stack action — the safety can't sort the crossers.
Spread Option
RPO slant thrown behind the stacked release.
Vertical
Stack fades: free release, back-shoulder ball, 1-on-1.
