Odd fronts

3 down linemen

Three down linemen — a nose tackle over the center and two ends — with four linebackers behind them. The 3-4 and 3-3-5 are odd fronts.

When it applies

When you want to disguise which four rush and which seven drop into coverage.

+ StrengthsBlitz can come from anywhere; the offense cannot tell pre-snap who is rushing.
− Trade-offsNeeds a true nose tackle who can eat double teams; fewer natural pass rushers.
